Pontoon Vs. Kayak?

I've gone through a similar progression and just want to chime and give my 2 cents.

I paddle a NUCANOE, it's a canoe kayak hybrid of sorts. It's worth a look

I did a fair amount of research and decided on this for several reasons. Here's my pitch.
The Pros:
- Super stable and nearly impossible to flip. I tested it out and sat on the very edge with my feet in the water without feeling unstable
- It has moveable seats for tandem or solo paddling. I've even sat three in mine before with a smaller kid
- It's made by the makers of Ocean Kayak by the same type of durable material
- It is easy to reenter from the water. I've had kids jump in and out and have done it myself when just taking it out and wanting to get wet.
THe Cons:
- It's on the heavier side (about 80lbs)
- doesn't drain water that comes over the top. It has a fairly high bow but water from the paddle can collect in small amounts in the boat
- It has many fishing upgrades but of course it comes with a price

Overall I have been very pleased with it. I have rigged it with a fish finder and troll leaded line behind it or even anchor and bottom fish.
