They are some pretty specimens. I wish we had them here in UT.
We do have them in Utah! I have caught several this year!

Damned bucket biologists! Haven't seen them on the "stocking" reports, or the lakes listed, but - I'm sure there's plenty of stuff not covered in 'da regs'. Now go find us some warheads, or warmouths and give 'em a new home! [][:p]
Since this zombie has been resurrected - I'll pitch my pennies:
So if a Perch is a Panfish, and Walleye are related to perch . . . ? Actually think part of it is the size - meaning the fish fits in a pan.
For eating - I loves Perch. Fun to catch on small tackle - getting on a school ice fishing is a blast.
For fight - I'll go Crappie. Bigger fish - harder fight. Been learning to think they can be an "easy" fish to catch - right time - right place. And where there's one . . .
I can honestly say I've had a very Crappie summer!
Again for eats - the Crappie gets the nod. Bigger filets, real clean flaky flavor. If I could catch bigger perch - twood be closer.
Bluegills/Green Sunfish are probably the most prettiest and colorful. Deep dark Bulls in spring spawn - very nice. Haven't really found the Sunfish with much size, though I have come across spots with loads and loads of feisty dinks.
First fish on a fly was a Gill for me this year.
