You know, my father in law was suggesting I use a slip bobber setup. I don't have the bobbers right now but they are pretty cheap maybe I'll give that a try. I was having trouble with snags with my carolina rig which wouldnt be an issue if I went for a slip bobber setup.
I did try rattle traps and I was using it when I knew there was fish in the water (I had just caught one on my carolina rig pole). I'm thinking the ones I have are either a little on the large side or I wasn't using it at the right depth. I prefer using lures (keeps me busy) but so far I have only had luck on bait. At least in this state I can have two poles in the water at once so I can do both :-)
