Surface local fishing is very, very slow!
Way Up North- Avila and Monterey
A few albies and lots of rockfish
Up North- Channel Island
Few anglers and the fish counts are low for the typical rockfish.
LA Area- Catalina Island
Few Calicos, few rockfish, no barracuda, yellowtail. water is COLD and FILTHY and I mean nasty but current good! ha ha
Further South- San Clemente
No better than Catalina
San Diego- Local and Offshore
Local bite is only decent for a few boats while offshore fishing is still putt putting along.
LA Local
Rockfish is about it except for Davey's, Newport and Dana Wharf counts of Sand Bass, etc.
