Southern California Saltwater
Report for September 13, 2003 (Saturday)
FANTASTIC ALBACORE BITE UP IN AVILA AND MONTEREY! 150+ ON A NUMBER OF BOATS! ESPECIALLY CHRIS'S
BOAT TRAFFIC IS KILLING THE YELLOW BITE A CATALINA FOR MANY SPORTIES! EXAMPLE: ONE BOAT 90 ANGLERS 8 YELLOWS.
Way Up North- Avila and Monterey
Ablacore galore.
Up North- Channel Islands
Lots of rockfish and red snappers.
LA Area- Catalina Island
Yellows slow for many sporties but it seems the 15 and 6 packs did OK.
Further South- San Clemente
I'll bet less traffic helped their counts.
San Diego- Local and Offshore
Local fishing pretty good to fantastic off the kelp for yellows, etc. Offshore is good but not outstanding with a continuing mixed bag.
LA Local
It's almost a joke excepting MDR with red snappers and decent bites of a number of species way down by Newport.
