Looks tasty! I can almost smell it : )
Thanks for clarifying, its funny how regional terms can cause confusion.
I was considering trying to compile a list of regional nicknames for fish, bucketmouth, slab, thumb biter : ), for example. I was wondering if slimer was used nation wide, for trout, or if its more localized.[#ff0000]
[#0000bf]If anyone can list their personal favorites and their location I'd appreciate it. [/#0000bf][/#ff0000]
Here's the stuff I was talking about. Its found in health food stores and probably could be made at home from corn meal, if one has either a mill or mortar and pestle?
Corn starch is just made from the endosperm, cornmeal is made from the whole grain, the finest of which is called corn flour, though it seems this could be confusing if your using a english recipe, in which case its going to be corn starch, and probably god-awful knowing the british : )
I've used the corn flour to make a lot of curry sauces, the taste of which doesn't come through the intense spices.
I think I'll keep corn meal mix in mind when I try to develop my personalized frying mix. I'll bet it makes a fine fried catfish with some cajun.
Also I'll include a picture of the pole I created last summer, I attached a coat hook to the bottom half of a medium action rod I found at a local pond, everyone asks me what the hook is for.
Also the fish I got today, since I was taking pictures. Best non-pay day I've had yet, I though I brought a cutbow back, but I must have released it or been mistaken.
Oh, and a picture of a slash and some marks on one, I was thinking it could be a pike bite.
Added picture of some species of bivalvia from stomach.
[#000000]Just a couple more things to add for personal reference mainly. The ice was much thicker, guessing 8 to 9 inches. Afternoon to sunset, overcast, gusty. Drifts on the south shore. Bites from start to finish, no action on pink tube or 1" white shad. mid W, 2 1/2, 4-5? [/#000000][#000000]Strong wind and snow from north following night into morning with SD temps tomorrow. [/#000000]
