That's what I was going to suggest.
There are showers and the small stores at Dutch John can at least get ice cream at. A decent dinner can also be had at the Red Canyon Lodge out by the visitors center.

The big cove that Mustang Ridge sits on can be very good fishing on the south side across from the campground and easy to reach in a 12' boat. If it is a calm morning you can try jigging the deep water out between the islands by the dam for lakers. Look for a drop off from 80' to over 100' of water and fish along the top of that shelf. When the wind starts blowing even the slightest, get the heck out of there with a boat that small.
