TKB gave you some good advice. Unless there is enough adult plumage to see the dark head and white cresent it would be classified as a cinamon teal by any of the local biologists. Adult hens look basically the same no matter which species. There has been some discussion that they maybe subspecies. That would be like the light and dark phases of the snow goose. The great salt lake marshes are one of the major nesting areas of the cinamon teal. gshorthair
