I like the black river in Petoskey... its a small run between the lake and the dam and gets crowded fast but if you can hit it on a weekday it's a blast. 3 1/2 hour trip though
Next fav spot would have to be Tippy Dam. Did quite well out there last year. I prefer the south side of the river as it's not as crowded BUT that means you get to climb 300 stairs coming back up. 2 hour trip
Whitehall pier/channel is a nice place as well. Not crowded but your better off hitting it in a boat if you have one.
I settle for the Grand River at 6th street Grand Rapids. It's not the best fishing because it does get crowded but when the run is hot it is some fun fishing... plus it's only a 20 min drive from the house (5 mins drive from work) [
