I also worked in a fish cannery in Alaska and up untill that time I enjoyed fish. But needless to say after going through tons of fish it's just not the same. and to top it off I cut myself while I was there, and got a type of blood poisoning. Ever since I have an allergic reaction to some types of fish ? I thought that I was crazy but I had a doctor tell me that I was hyper sensitive from over exposure? Strange thing I caught some Burbot this winter, cooked it up,it was better than any fish that I had ever tasted, till I couldnt get air!!! Turns out Burbot is fresh water cod. Cod being one of the worst for allergy's. I still like the taste of fish but am a bit hesitant about eating any as you can imagine. I am turning into a C&R guy even as much as I would like to fry some up at times.
