I just happen to own one of those. It absolutely slayed the pup macks through the ice at Flaming Gorge a year ago. I have tried it at least four times ice fishing at Strawberry and probably caught two fish with it. I also have it rigged so that I can easily use it on my boat and I have caught a few fish doing it that way. I find it is fun just to use it sometimes while I actively fish with the second rod.
