Yes, I remember the tree very clearly - I can see the image of it in my mind. But the name???
The park interpreter used to make black powder rifles, and since I was from Pennsylvania I have always dreamed of owning a Pennsylvania-Kentucky rifle. But that was an expense I couldn't justify with 4 children and a wife to support. So I asked him how he made them, and with his coaching I was able to make my own 45 caliber muzzle-loader rifle. It test fired with the same ballistics as a modern Winchester 35 rifle, pretty impressive.
