Most Famous People I have met
#23
I dont know if this one would realy count,

he/they wasnt famous at the time I met them, sort of pre stardom... and it was nearly a hundred years ago, "ok closer to 50" Man the world was a different place back then.... Kids were allowed in the bars. Local bands would come in and play / audition for fryday and saturday night gigs.

It was at one of these auditions when my mom decided to take me and my little sister to the bar, we had a coke and a bag of chips, I had barby-Q, "aint kids qute when they are little" And back in the day, a bag of chips and a coke was a real treat cuz every one was dirt poor.

Well here is this bar, and only half dozen coustomers at best in the pub, and I was half way in to my bag-0- Jays-chips and this band starts a playin. There were only one other couple out on the dance floor, so my mom told me to take my little sister out of the floor to dance... WE were there because it was her birthday and I have always been shy in that respect, but always respectfull and obediant to my momma, "god bless her soul." If-n you knew what was best for ya, You didnt give no lip, besides I got a bag of chips and a coke how grand was that... [cool]

so I grabed little sister's hand and pulled her out on to the dance floor. WE danced just a couple feet from the stage, I could feal and see every one looking at us including the band and my face must have been beet red, and bouy howdy did I feal awkword. and the fealing compiled cuz after every song people was looking at me and little sis and was clapping their hands including the band... I thought they all was a clappin at us..

Well this being my first time ever at a bar-n-all I hadnt a clue as to what was going on.. [laugh] I was only this many "six" and little sis was only half that many.

When I think about it today, and the grandure of the experiance and encounter and think about what it would cost today to get this band to do a privet gig for a hand full of people. I think I drew a chocolate covered oozy cherry on this one. [:p]

Cuz as you know, after every couple songs, back in the day, bands would have to anounce/promote themselves to their perspective audiences so the name would stick in. Being a professional clown for a bit my self I got to know this to be true, ya never know when or where the next gig would be, and lots of times you would only be playing for tips.

And this heavy hitter, Rock - n - Roll hall of famer kept anouncing his name and the members of his band.

[center]Bob Seager and the Silver Bullet Band......

What would you pay for a privet party apearence from this group?

Little sis's birthday party must have come to a grand total of about buck and a half, two bucks tops including gas to get there and back...

What makes the whole thing so grand is that Bob Seager grew in to being one of my all time favorite bands, tho I have never been to another of his concerts, our paths did cross once again some 15 years later, I was a dish washer in one of detroits 5 star resturaunts at the time "White House Mannor" Where I did get an autographed match book from Dave Campbell

Sure do wish I still had that match book right about now.
Best I can figure what happened to it is some one must have needed a match and grabbed the book not knowing its true value [pirate]

Things always come in three's, So I am looking forward to my next personal encounter with Bob Seager and his band.
