Rock Creek
#3
Did someone tell you all my hiding spots or something??

That's one of the best FF spots in the whole area of Mono and Inyo county. If it wasn't for Tom's Place, that whole little creek would have been "Just another place to try someday".

That area is just the beginning of the 10,000 (literally) lakes that are in the area.

I particularly enjoy the stretch between Mosquito Flats and Big Meadow. For some reason, your map doesn't show one of my ultimate spots where I help some buddies build a cabin up there close to 25yrs ago.

The spot is called Horse Meadows and it is just below Big Meadows. It is loaded with narrow creeks of 10" wide which then open up to 28 feet wide in some spots.

Numerous pools left in the rocks there provide for some nice holding spots for the fish. The water is always freezing cold, well close at 36 degrees which makes for very quick baths when you decide to stay for a week or two up there.

Many of the areas are so secluded that you can do nature walks ( only wear your boots and your nature) without anyone seeing you.

Although the water is constantly cold from the snow run off, the high altitude can still bless you with some warm weather.

That area is one of my best for the Royal Coachman, Female adams and of course, the Mosquito. Right now and for the next month and a half, anything that resembles a mosquito will be the ticket. They are thick up there this time of year and can be bothersome especially if you go on a nature walk.

While you are puting Deet on your feet, you have to watch for the Skeeter on your..........other areas.[shocked]

By the way, Tom's Place is only a hop, skip and a jump from Bishop.[Wink]
