The big difference in the early hunt and the late hunt is how close they are to a road. Once the shooting starts they get the idea real quick and head for the back country[
]. There are plenty of roads on the East and South side of the mountains but on the West side there is one main road and one side road. There are higher elevation areas to check out but from what I remember, it is very hot there this time of the year. I'm sure by now you have a good map of the area so I'll get my map at work tonight and I'll let you know about a couple of areas that will be worth checking out. Were you planning on doing some hiking on this trip or just driving?
