Excellent article. I know that here in the south, drop shotting is getting to be done by power fishing as well. Some anglers are using heavier weights and heavier line, and fishing in heavier cover. This is an excellent way to fish over submerged grass. It is kind of like a backwards carolina rig, that allows your bait to hang over the grass instead of dragging through it.
