Not sure what exactly this post is about. I am grasping the idea that you are say as little contact with a fish the better. That is a give me.
Fishing is a blood sport and to think differently, you are kidding yourself.
Even those LDR's (long distance releases) suffer stress and can die cause of that. So with out even touching the fish, it is in danger.
I love the idea of the lip grippers...kewl way to not touch. I personally use a custom built net by "Tropical Lightning Creations" that is all hand made wood. Both my wading and longer handled pontoon net can handle fish in the 28 to 34" range which I have proven. They are rubber nets which I feel are easier on the fish scales plus, the hooks don't get stuck in them as easily.
As far as Carp, I know first hand (by accident however) that they are not that hard to catch on a fly. Lance Egan is another LOCAL that has all sorts of articles written on this.
I closing, I get real tired of someone excited about their catch and posting a picture that might not be all that complimentary, ONLY to have some A-Hole come back and jump them for the way they are holding them. IT IS DONE! Try to be nice, cause you can't change what has been done. Maybe PM this person and ask them privately if they understand what they have done, but what is to be gained by PUBLICLY jumping someones $hit.?!
