Mine did the exact same thing as yours then. I removed the upper gearcase myself, and then took the upper gearcase (which includes the driveshaft) over to the SeaRay shop on 3xxx south state (I think its called marine max now) because they work on Volvo's, and I had them put the seal in for me as apparently it required a bunch of special tools, which I didn't care to buy at over $600.00!!!
Was a lot cheaper and a lot more convenient as they didn't have to remove the part from the boat themselves.
Seems like they charged me about $80 for the parts and labor, but that was about 10 years ago.

I used to N.ot have E.nough T.ime O.ff to go fishing. Then I retired. Now I have less time than I had before. Sheesh.
