Maybe if you take two 2 liter bottles and cut them in half. You should be able to slide one into the other one. You may have to make a cut in the inside one to get it to fit. But then punch a couple of holes around the bottle and use some twist ties to hold them together. Then when your ready to harvest your minnows, just untie the ties and pull the two bottles a part. As far as some weight to help it sink and lay level. Something attached to the outside in the center of the trap might work better.
