As most people know, wind and stripers don't mix. I should have taken up wind surfing or wind trolling.
Most people out here drop shot frozen anchovies. During the Trout planting season, you can also pick them up on Huddlestons or immitation trout lures.
The trolling with the Huds is usually around the 60' mark. That produces the 30lb class.
The bigger ones are down deeper and hit on the Drop shot anchovy in about 190' of water. Deeper than that you catch the bottom of the lake.
The lake where I fish them is 292 in the deepest part. There are some nice crawfish down there but the fish have their happy spot in the water column.
All my bigger ones were pre digital camera days. I am working on catching some fresh ones to have better digital proof.
The big ones are due to start biting good soon. I want to be part of it.[cool]
