[cool]Hey, nephew. I ain't lost. I just don't always know where I am...or why I'm there.
I think the specs on the basic craft are 12#. That's a little heavier than some, because of the PVC undercoating. Of course, by the time I add my sonar, battery, rod rack and tackle, the weight is somewhere close to an aircraft carrier. But, I'm still pretty tough. I can sling it up on my head and trudge a fair distance to my launch site. A basic setup should be pretty manageable.
The air bladder is urethane...which is slightly thicker and stronger than the vinyl chambers in a lot of craft. It can be aired up by lung power or with a pump like they use on those big rubber rafts. It has a 1" Halkey Roberts valve, so it airs up quick, and deflates fast for storage in the car on the way home.
If you go the helium route, you will also need some ballast and a fan...to propel you wherever you want to go. And, a good place to go might just be that bikini contest. Although the ladies might run screaming at the sight of a dirty old man hovering over them in s wierd looking space craft.
