Use all the typical smallmouth baits. Grubs, tubes, jigs, and cranks. People were catching fish on all these baits. Speed is the key, small mouth like the bait fast and with irregular movements. You could target the large mouth but last year I didn't see very many large mouth at the weigh in. If you do find some large mouth they will be good sized. Remember to downsize your baits although I have seen smallies hit 7inch lures before. They should be about ready to spawn now. It will be a fun tourny, I am looking forward to it. [
