Prey species in sw Idaho

I'm don't know as much about that side of the state but I will tell you what I do know. Maybe some of the other guys will be able to give you some more ideas.
There are crawdads. Smallmouths really like crawdads. There are also shiners and sculpin in the snake river. I think that Crappie minnows would also be a top prey species.
Silver and brass would both work well. I like to use silver more than brass. I think the presentation and location of the lure is generally going to make a much larger difference than if it is silver or brass. Good luck.
