For those who have not heard yet there is a new Idaho walleye state record. The fish was caught by Mark Abel of Hailey Idaho. The fish weighed 17-pounds, 6 ounces 35 inches long with a girth of 21 1/2 inches. Mark caught the record fish at Salmon Falls Resevoir while night fishing Sunday October 1 2006. The old state walleye record was 16 pounds, 2 ounces. Mark has spent 25 years fishing that body of water for walleye and it looks like it finally paid off. Nobody deserves it more than you Mark. Congratulations!!!
