Late September suggestions
#4
If I were you I would not waste my money on fuel to go to Salmon Falls. That body of water has some nice Trout but the last few years the Walleye fishing has been in the toilet. I live 100 miles north of Salmon Falls and have not fished it once this year. After spending two weekends a month last summer down there I swore the place off for this year. The local Walleye Club held their June 15-16 Tournament with 42 boats entered half the field never brought an Eye to the scale. A Utah team won it with a whopping 14 pounds for two days of fishing for a two man team. Last year all it took to win it was 12+ pounds. Also that body of water sits at over 5000 feet elevation and the wind does blow.

Anderson Ranch is at 4000 feet so it is a little warmer also nicer scenery. The smallmouth fishing that time of year can be fantastic, and you will probably have the lake to your self as most other people will be into hunting.

I know it's a further drive but if I were you I would head to Brownlee Resevoir. That body of water on the Snake River sits at 2200 feet and is really nice that time of year. You could do a "Cast & Blast" if you like to Chukar hunt it can be a real hoot. Also that time of year would be great smallmouth fishing.

C.J. Strike by Mountian Home about 3000 feet elevation would be another good option that time of year and a little closer for you. It has small & large mouth bass along with trout, sturgeon, cat fish, perch, crappie. as do most dams on the Snake River. Either way I don't think you will have a lot of company.[cool][cool]

Hope this helps.
