Your question has already been answered, but I'll add a little to it. I've never fished for sturgeon below CJ strike but have heard a fair amount about it. It is a popular spot with sturgeon fishermen so expect plenty of company.
Sturgeon can be found any where in the Snake downstream of Shoshone Falls. There is also a small population that was planted below American Falls Reservoir. A few years ago one of these sturgeon turned up in an irrigation canal somewhere downstream. I think it was by Burley but don't remember the details. There are also a few sturgeon in the Salmon River and in other tributaries to the Snake.
