Fishboy2, Most people use them for bait to catch the cutts and macks on Bear lake, but some people eat them. They run about the 18th of January whether it has frozen or not. I haven't chased the cysco yet, this will be my first year. From what I understand they are easier to catch when there is ice because you can get right above them and net them through the ice. I am not sure if you can cast net them.
