I never put my long rod away. I like flyfishing all winter. And for me, I would rather be walking around on a stream anticipating the next hole than sitting on a frozen lake staring at a ice hole. Sorry, I couldn't resist.[
]And even if I can only catch whitefish I enjoy it. I think whitefish are underrated. They are not much on looks and they don't jump much (allthough I have seen whitefish jump)but they are pound for pound the strongest fish I have ever caught and they seem to stay more active and less lethargic than trout in the winter..
