Impact of Predators on the West's Mule Deer Herds
#5
I've heard a lot of hunters report about specific areas that once held a lot of deer but that now hold very few. Without exception, all of these same hunters have reported seeing far more signs of predators than ever before in the affected areas.

I agree that habitat is also crucial to mule deer survival in an area. But while we're thinking about restoring habitat in an area where mule deer are struggling, we should also think about increasing the culling of predators in the area to give the deer the very best chance for survival and increasing their numbers.
