KILLER HAMMER HEAD PHOTO

Hammerheads as well as Blues are common in that area they are even caught up around Redondo Beach on occasion.

This warming trend that we are having in the ocean, without being an "El Nino" condition, is driving some of the bigger boys farther north.

I had a big surprise a couple of weeks ago myself. Off of Port Hueneme Pier, I surprisingly caught an 8' Lemon Shark. They are more common on the Eastern sea board and parts of Baja. I still wondered what it was doing this far north.

I was unable to land it because it was about 200 lbs and was no match for 25lb line. I did get to play with it for about an hour before it was identified and finally broke off of the line.
