RECORDED: [Image: mssunny.gif] 78 ° [Image: blackSpacer.gif] FISHING: Good
Owyhee River
Good

With the weather finally starting to calm down the river is getting into a little more of a rhythm. The fish are starting to feed in the lower part of the river again. It is not back to normal quite yet but it getting better everyday. There are still hatches every afternoon and you can expect to see several bugs including Callibaetis, Baetis in gray, tan, and olive, a few PMD’s but with colder weather that will stop, some Midges, the Mahogany’s should start any day now. There are still a lot of fish to be caught on nymphs too. If you don’t see any surface action I would stick to nymphs like Pheasant Tails and Midge Larvae. The water above the slide is fairly clear and as cold as ever. The water below the slide is still a little off color but improving rapidly.

Flies: Beadhead Pheasant Tail, 16-20, Prince Nymphs, 16-20, Copper Johns, 16-18, PMD Emergers, 16-18, Callibaetis Emergers, 16-18, Baetis Hatchmatcher, 20, PMD Comparadun, 16-18, Olive Midges, 18-20, Black Midges, 18-20, Baetis Emergers, 18-20, Olive Emergers, 18-20, Parachute Callibaetis, 16-20, Mahogany Comparadun, 16-18.
