Three species day at Willard
#1
I took my daughter and three neighborhood boys to Willard to cap of summer break before school starts tomorrow and it did not disappoint. We dropped our fligs tipped with chub about 6:45 off of Pelican beach  and started putting cats in the boat. We noticed quit a bit of bird activity then started seeing actual honest to goodness wiper boils. The kids would take turns casting white tube jigs into the boils and they caught a bunch of small 12” wipers all released didn’t think to take pictures or count. We quit fishing at 10:30am when we couldn’t fit any more cats in the box, we caught several over 25” the largest was 28” and also picked up a couple perch on fligs. Once we reeled up the lines I drug the kids around on the tube until 12:30 and we went in and cleaned our catch and where home before 2pm. What a great way to cap off summer break.
