The end of July had not been great fishing for kokanee at Strawberry, so I was excited to meet my 3 daughters and a son-in-law in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and vacation in the Keys. We had scheduled to snorkel at John Pennekamp, Fort Zachary Taylor and Bahia Honda/Looe Key. I also had an off shore fishing trip booked out of Ramrod Key. The day we left, the captain of the fishing trip canceled as he had contracted Covid. The snorkeling was great, but I really wanted to fish, so a few calls later I was put in touch with Captain JT (James Taylor) on Little Torch Key. It was not to disappoint. Captain JT and his 13 yr old deck hand put us on a school of dolphin (Mahi) early in the trip and we stayed on them for hours. The final total was 40 which was the limit. I will add photos soon.
