i've benn going out by the west side duck clubs behind slc airport and doing fairly good this season i belong to one of the duck clubs thus giving me access tthrew the gates. i have to wait til the duck season closes to get in there and chase dogs but since its closed in january ive killed seven dogs in 4 trips out there. i use a johny stewart electronic calling system it has 4 different sounds that can be play all at once or individually ive found that if i play the piglet distress and the baby cottontail together the dogs cant resist it. i shoot a thompson encore chambered in 223 with 42 grain soft points so it dont blow up the pelt. toole county has a 25 dollar bounty on them right now so ive been hunting the skull valley area lately with some success. and i go by the one mile rule stop every one mile and call for 15 mins. no response look at odemeter and go one mile get out call again no matter what the terain looks like. just cant wait til may to get some prairie dog hunting in.
