These are quite useful for keeping tabs on hours and mount directly to the motors, they are digital, have internal battery and a coil pickup that mounts direct to #1 sparkplug wire. It works when motors are running only. The other way it's done is installing dash meters next to your gages but I don't have room on my dash at this time. Newer motors now how internal meters but most of us don't have the means to download the codes with engine time.Thanks Roger, I'll have to check in to that meter. In the past, I've just changed it every few years but I have no idea how many hours are on it, I just know it's always pretty clear.
