There are still a lot of white bass in Utah Lake. But they have been a bit less abundant the past 4 or 5 years. When you find a school you would never suspect their numbers were lower...and some folks are still heavily harvesting. No problem. But with fewer schools more widely dispersed it is more difficult to really get into them. With water temps going over 50 the whities will start bunching up for the spring fling. That will tell the tale. Last year there were fewer wide open bite reports and I suspect it will be the same this year. You and I can both remember times when you couldn't keep white bass off your walleye jigs or catfish baits anywhere on the lake.
Catfish don't know nuttin' about social distancing. All they care about is eating. But when I gotta bring one into my tube to get my flig back I give them a little lecture before giving them a smooch and releasing them. But no .
