It has been a lot of work, but very rewarding. This net is much stronger that your typical mono minnow nets. The twine I made it from is nylon #4 bonded twine. Plus, if I do snag something, I will have the ability to mend any holes in it.
I have mended a net with 1/4 web, but it is hard to weave it back up since the webbing is so small. I can do it, but it is a lot of work.
I think I will make my next net from #9 twine, which will even be stronger. I plan on finishing the last 6 inches of my net with #9 twine to make it more resistant to abrasion and snags. I might have to go swimming if it is really snagged bad. lol.
If anyone is interested, I would be happy to show them how I weave a net.
