As of this morning, I believe the project is completed. Following fisherman's advice, I purchased a keel roller and had my neighbor weld it on the cross beam. I used Six-10 Thickened Epoxy and then painted it with Rust-Oleum "Forged Hammered Paint & Primer in One Any Surface - Any Angle" paint. Both worked as slick as snot on a doorknob.
