Boat Anchor
#1
Hi guys, bought a new boat this year. Well new for me. I wanted to see if anyone had opinions on a boat anchor or anchors that might be best. It will be parked at Strawberry. I am hoping to be kept in place for those long overnight fishing trips.
It's a 24' Reinell. I will include a pic.

Thanks for any help you can offer!

There are many types of anchors and in general it depends on the bottom of the lake you will be fishing, whether it is rocky or soft. I've had several types over the years and the one I like to best is the Danforth/Fluke. If you choose this type of anchor, you will need to attach a 5 ft length of heavy dia chain to it to get it to drag the bottom and dig in. Because I use my anchor the most while fishing Bear lake, I have 100 ft of 3/4" nylon rope connected to the chain. If you are planning on sleeping in your boat you might want to have two anchors, one for the Bow and one for the Stern. I have also used Navy anchor and Mushroom anchors but do not care for them as much. Hope that helps.

box anchors are a compact design and work well I also have a lewmar claw anch or that seems to really hold well but is not compact at all.
