Lake Mead Crappie
#1
I caught this crappie a couple of weeks ago and had to take a picture. In all the years that I have fished mead I have never caught or seen a crappie. I was so unsure at first that I took the time to catch a bluegill to compare it too. I guess they are still swimming out there after all.[fishin]

This post reminded me to toss some smaller stuff in the boat. Was in a cove full of Bluegills last weekend and I was going to rig something up for Madi to mess with them and I had nothing in the boat smaller than a size 1.

WOW! I haven't seen a crappie since I lived in utah, this is one of the coolest pictures I've seen posted in a while, I've always wanted to see someone who's caught a crappie at mead. I wonder if their numbers are increasing?

Hey Lee, ya man I went out twice last week to boulder harbor to test new props after work and decided to troll the beach after sunset and skunked twice on that. Didn't see any baitfish or schools of striper on the graph. The shad my bass catches from the wash have been puking up are really small, like 1" and less.

i saw 2 huge bait balls of shad chased to the shower in swallow cove last weekend. we were camping on the shore and these bait balls were HUGE!! Thousands of small shad! Caught 32 stripers earlier in the morning in less than 2 hours in that cove.

They were about 50 ft east of the boyi "spelling" mostly along the shore on the east side of the cove.. Only accessible by boat. This was early morning thou around 6:30 or so... We need to hook up man... I desperately need to take my boy on a good fishing trip!! Tired of one or 2 here or there.. We had one good night for him at the pier off of boulder beach he caught like 20 finger sized stripers and bass haha.. Put a small hook and a worm 1/4" long and it was on. It was fun for him thou.:
