Haven't yet used them myself but recently happened to pick one up at a garage sale for .25 cents which is right in my price range so I grabbed it.

As I understand it those that use this lure swear by it and become lifelong "disciples of the spoon plug". The beautiful thing about this lure, I am told, is that they hold their depth when trolling no matter what speed your boat is moving. If you vary your trolling speed the spoon plug stays at the depth it is at depending on how much line you have out.

This trait alone is what makes this lure a real standout. For those with little trolling experience a lure that maintains it's depth would be a great help, I know of no other lure that can do that.

I know there is a book/video combo package available that teaches the spoon plug technique and that is on my short list now that I happened to stumble across one of these lures. I'm definitely going to order the package and get some more spoon plugs in various sizes. Why I haven't done so sooner I can't say, always knew about them but never yet tried them out. This fall that is going to change and maybe I too will become a disciple of the spoon plug.
