Creating own lures..out of snap on feathers & gummies

How familiar are you guys with creating your own lures?
i really am just getting into fishing as a serious pastime sport. And wanted to know what type of information you guys had. Tips also?

A friend of mine says his cousin made a lure recently out of [url "http://efeatherextensions.com/snaponfeathers/"]snap on feathers[/url], some other [url "http://efeatherextensions.com/"]feather extensions[/url], and a bunch of gummy worms. I seriously fell out laughing. i thought this was the funniest thing.
I dont know if it worked but he said the guy was an experiences fisherman. Any other funny stories like this?

Lol,I also tried gummy worms just for kicks but they get really soft after awhile,bass weren't hungy that day but I was, so I ate them.I'll try again some time, I always end up eating my bait if its either bread or gummies. I have a weird question,ever heard of anyone fishing for catfish having a largemouth eat the cut bait??? "freshfish"
