2011 flaming gorge burbot bash
#1
Happy Saturday as the temps slowly head south.

At Thursdays meeting in Green River, the working group putting on the third annual flaming gorge burbot bash set the date of January 22 through 29, 2011. Cash payouts $$$$$$$$$$$$$$, door prizes. Game and fish will tag 500 ling. Luzerne marina on the south side for the boat fishermen and Buckboard for the north end weigh in. They will have 3 and 4 man teams, I think they said $30 per person. event will run all week with weigh in's in the late evenings and early mornings every day.
Game and fish, forest service and all chambers of commerce, plus marinas and misc. lodges will be involved.
I will add more as it becomes available.

I have not been able to find any additional information about the burbot bash, anybody know where I can find info and sign up? Last year we put our names on the list through BFT, is Wyoming going to take care of all the sign up this year?

If you were looking in to a repeat of the bigfishtackle burbot bash from last season, I looked in to this for you, and as far as I can tell the burbot bash is a bust... dont hold me to that.

that is what I am getting from what I read from the thread about the topic, The best I can tell we are looking at a Perch party, and dont hold me to that either, I am posting a link to the thread about the topic and you can talk to the guys who are involved with last years event and this years potential event.

Dear guys;
The burbot bash is not a bust. There is a lot more to planning when it's a tournament than a "show up and fish" type of event.
The webmaster is waiting for us to finalize the rules. We are working with the Wyoming game and fish, and Utah fish and wildlife, and three chambers of commerce. Confusion, not so much.
When the rules are finalized, we will put them up on the web site. There will be preregistration and sign up the Saturday of the 22nd. There will be vendors so bring$$$
For more info, please contact the Green River Chamber of Commerce 307-875-5711

can you provid us a link to the topic on the utah board so others visiting the national board can view.

Remember, we are tying to incurage new anglers to attend this and other events of this type around contry.

If there is coflicting information available on events, it is always best to refer back to your resorces so others can make sure the sorce of the info is acredditable.

The [#ff0000]third one[/#ff0000] is:

The [#ff0000]2nd Annual Reeling for Relay Burbot derby[/#ff0000] is put on by a Relay 4 Life Team. Relay 4 Life raises money for the American Cancer Society. Our Derby is February 11, 12, & 13, 2011 at Flaming Gorge Reservoir. We have $5000 in Cash prizes to give away. 1st-$1000, 2nd-$500, 3rd-$200, 4th-$100, 5th-$1000, 6th-$100, 10th-$1000, 11th-$100, and 15th-$1000. Thought we'd mix it up a little to make it fun and interesting and to discourage the pooling of fish. Cost is $100 for a 3 man team. Does not include Gorge Stamp. Derby headquarters will be at Buckboard Marina. We will have prize for biggest burbot and one for the littlest burbot. Shore prizes also. Children are welcome but there is not a seperate category. If you'd like a list of the rules please E mail to [#212126]Feed_99@yahoo.com[/#212126].

I see you guys have the same resorce numbers, so if any one has any questions as to what is going on, they can do as you say, do thier own home work. [cool]

I have run a few events that by no fault of my own planning where we have had to change the rules at the last minute because of conflicting issues.. Some times the parks want something changed, or the game warden wants something changed, or the number of fish planted went up or down because of what was available in the budget. It happens, and it looks like a great event.. maybe I can hit the lotto and fly out. [cool]
