catawba river dam?

I live near the upper part of the catwaba , is that the name of the dam? Theres a dam near me on the catawba that is called lookout dam. But keep in mine I'm talking in NC area.

i am just across the border its the lake wylie dam
i am sure it is the same type of fishing though. what have you caught there?

i was out there today and a couple people around me caught some bass but i didnt catch a thing

It depends on the time of year really. In the spring its strippers in water around 30 to 40 deep at my end of the river and the mouth of creeks best with water temp in the 60's. The crappie in the spring are under docks and in the shaded areas out of the sun. Fall you can fine crappie in brush , under bridges and docks. Look for a tree sticking up. As for dams slow troll at different deeps with live bait. Keep eye on the fish finder for signs and keep moveing until you see the signs.
