Whats the best shelter for the money. I've used an old tent the last couple of years and it worked all right, it was heavy and took a while to setup and it finally got to many holes so I tossed it. Then my Dad baught a used piece of crap that I am convinced was designed by PETA , it is so frustrating to put up and take down that by the time your done you don't even want to fish any more. And your fingers are so cold and bleeding from being pinched that you can't even bait a hook if you wanted to. I've looked at the ones at Sportsmans and holy cow they want alot of money for something I would only use maybe 6 times a year. So if I am going to buy one I want to get the most for my money, any advice would be nice. Thanks.

Ice cube or a Quick fish gets my vote. Easy to setup, take down and light weight.

you wont find anything easier than an ice cube we have the ice cube 2 and it work amazing sets up in about a minute 2 minutes if that and its made from good material and holds heat nice with a heater also. you can get them on line for fairly cheap i found an ice cube 4 for 150 on ebay and that was the buy it now price. now thats a good deal

You basically pull it out, through it out, it pops up, you then take the 2 carbon poles and put them in like a dome tents and you're done. Set up in 1 minute or less is reasonable. The material is thinner, but it blocks most the wind and with a small portable heater in there it gets pretty warm quick. The down side is that the material isn't going to stand up to hard punishment and getting it staked down adequately to not blow away can be challenging unless you use something like those T-anchors. But if you're fishing in that high of winds you may have to worry about being drifted in. Ameristep has a similar blind called the G-20. It also is on sale frequently.
No, they aren't "real" ice fishing shelters, but they do the job and take up almost zero space and weigh about 2 lbs. Not to mention, for the price, they are hard to beat.

My vote would be for the 4 person Ice Cube. I bought mine off of ebay for $155 and free shipping. We have used it a couple of times this year and it has been great.

Try redrockstore.com it's got 4 different brands of pop-up shelters, and his personal test info for each. I think a couple of them have free shipping too. I would suggest getting a 3-4 man tent if you aren't going to be fishing alone very often, the extra space is worth 30 more bucks.

Thanks for the help. The Ice cube seems like the way to go. And seems like a pretty good deal for what you get. Much cheaper than some of the others I've been looking at.

Has anyone seen an Igloo killzone shelter? If so is the quality similar to a Quickfish? The design looks like all the other cubes. $164 and free shipping on ebay for a 4 person but the measurement is 92" from hub to hub. Are the other cubes measured this way or at the bottom?
