Strawberry Report
#1
Went to strawberry last week with my 2 1/2 year old son. We ended up catching 15 for the day. A mix of cuts and bows, all released. We drug Rapalas most of the day. No wind to speak of. Here are some pictures.

Fantastic pics, and those are some good-lookin' fish. I'm jealous cause I haven't been to the Berry for a few years now, and it's always been my favorite place.

Thanks for the report!

Nice pictures. Next time please include a few with your son. Always enjoy seeing pictures of smiling children with fish. I sure hope it is just as windy up there tomorrow as the day you fished it.

Kent,

You going to be on the Soldier or Berry side tomorrow? Found out last night that my wife is letting me take a quick fishing trip to Utah as a graduation present (even though she is now 8 months pregnant...hope I can get cell service if something happens). My uncle is heading up tonight and camping over near the marina on the Berry side. I'm going to head up at first light tomorrow and hitch a ride on his boat. In my opinion he doesn't really fish in a very productive manner (pop gear and worm), but I'll take what I can get. It's been three years since I've been on a "real" fishing trip. In fact, the last time I caught a trout over 10" was on that night trip you and I took. I'm so excited I could hardly sleep last night.

I leave for the airport in a couple hours. Should I bother trying to get my casting net in my carryon luggage? I hear the slot has had a devasating impact on the shiners.

Jack, sorry I have been gone and unable to reply before now. Major wreck in Sardine Canyon and we had to take the scenic route home after picking up the boat from Lee's Marine. I will be launching from The Strawberry Marina and will probably be somewhere in The Ladders area. Look for a classic red and white boat with three guys hopefully vertically jigging. I remember that overnighter we did many moons ago up there. We caught our fair share and then some. I remember the first trips that I went to Strawberry in my boat. I didn't know any better and often drug a popgear and worm around all day.
