Seeing our tax dollars at work!!
#1
I was out at Willard last night and saw a DWR guy write 3 tickets and the state park guy write 2. One guy didn't have a license. Another was using 2 rods without a 2nd pole permit, and one had corn (I don't know whether he was using it for bait or not).
As for the state park guy, or whatever he is... I saw him write a ticket for a guy that was speeding around in wakeless, and another guy that was on a wave runner, pulling a skier, I kid you not 10 feet from shore. Right up against the dike. If that guy would have lost control he could have been face first into the rocks.. What an idiot.
Anyway, kudos to the officials at Willard.

[font "Arial Black"][red][size 3] Sounds like some of the complaints are finally taking effect. I say keep it going. At least we now know that they are out there.[/size][/red][/font]

[cool]That's good to hear, Flycasting. There's definitely a lot of morons (of the powersquadron variety, and dumb redneck fishermen that think the rules apply to everybody else but them) that frequent that lake. It's good to hear that some of them are starting to get busted. Might make them think twice about their stupid acts next time their out there, and it'll make the lake a little safer for us fishermen.

[#505000]Utah has a few other archaic regulations that I wonder at too. Like the live bait thing, bulegill for bait, ect..... It would be nice to see the DWR compare notes with some of the other states and come up with some better regulations in a few areas. I would like to see them adopt some things which are currently illegal here, but that are really working for other states. [/#505000]

[#505000]Utah is really on the ball legislativly compared to many states in many areas of the law, but a lot of our wildlife rules are........ interesting. [Tongue][/#505000]

Good to see them out putting the smack down. I hope they keep it up, it might start to curb the problem.

Ah yes, the old Green Giant White niblets for kokanee through the ice in western Montana - those were some of the best eating fish.

If you read about kokanee fishing anywhere in the western U.S. they all use the yellow gold for tippings the lures....

BUT we have to look at the BIG picture here --- MAYBE THE JUVENILE FISH MIGHT GET HOOKED ON CORN AND THEN WHAT?

CORN DEALERS - CORN REHAB - CORN TAXES --- we have to control the madness before the corn gets out-of-control.....

And as far as the officer's doing thier duty - Willard has had tons of $$$ put into the facilities and I hope they are at least trying to "Slow the Flow" - but as many of you know only about 15% of the fines get back to the issuing agency - the courts get the rest.

[#505000]Huh?!?!? Which records are you looking at?? At least for our agency the State takes a big cut and the court/city keeps the rest. Our law enforcement agency doesn't see a dime of the money we generate for the court/city. As far as I am aware no agency does. Into the general fund it goes.[/#505000] If our [#505000]department got %15 of all the money we generated from tickets we would all be driving Hummers. [cool][/#505000]
[#505000][/#505000]
[#505000]I did the math once and on all the citations I wrote in a year equalled enough money to pay for my wage/benefits and my car.[/#505000]

[#505000]Where the money all goes I don't know but I can promise you I don't know of any agency that gets 15%. If they did we would wrtie a lot more tickets to get some of the toys we collectively want. [/#505000]

Hey Gary do you accept those "Get out of Jail Free" cards like on the monopoly boards? For example, if I point out my BFT sticker in the back window of my blazer, do I get off with just a warning?[cool][Tongue]

[#505000]Well today is day 1 of 15 days off. It started last night with a less than successful trip to "the berry". I think would could have done better if we could have found any shiners but they was a hidin'. this morning were going to go on a free trip to Lagoon, but our "traveling car" (the one I trust for distance trips) decided it needed to break down. [#505000]I should get it back on tuesday. I'll likely shoot you a PM when I get the car back.[/#505000]

[#505000]As far as Get Out of Jail Free goes.... I learned never to tip my hand!! [Tongue][/#505000]
