Flaming Gorge Burbot Turkey day weekend

Fellow anglers. Im heading up to the Gorge with some of my fellow active duty serviceman to chase Burbot from the pontoon. I've never fished for them yet and was thinking of fishing the confluence/buckboard area. Is that a good starting point? Are the launches open? ANY advice would be greatly appreciated![fishin]

All launches are open this time of the year but the only other launch beside Buckboard in the area you want to fish is Firehole. Firehole is closer to the area you want to fish but it is farther to drive to. The Confluence/ Lostdog area is usually pretty good.
