Hilton Head?

I come done to Hilton Head Island every year for vacations, an I was wondering what type of fish I could catch right off of the beach around the Sea Pines resort. And also, I'm kind of new to saltwater fishing, so if I were to fish right off the beach, what type of rod should I use? Thanks
