Was hoping to hit lake Cascade in Idaho this year. Never been before. Is it worth getting a guide for a 2-3 day trip? Does anyone know a good reasonable guide service. Any help to accomplish this goal would be appreciated. Thanks

We didn’t use any guides when we went. Just our preference. We just used a map of Lake Cascade. West shoreline anywhere from 10’-25’ plus has always been good including along Sugarloaf island. VMC Tingler spoons worked great for me. As was stated Tackle Tom’s will help ya out. Here’s a guide service that is up there if you want a guide for a day to learn:

I don't know if Kim and Kay's video of Cascade is still floating around, but that snowmobile adventure put me onto a whole new level of fun ice fishing with snowmobiles and ice camping... Very fun experience to fish Cascade, we did a cabin just off the lake (VRBO) and snowmobiled to Sugarloaf area, my finder died just prior to the trip, so I ended up fishing blind the first two days and used my camera the last day and was able to finally get me a 15.5"er before I had to leave at noon that day... Was a great trip, but probably one of the coldest spots I've ice fished... I think it was 30 below and man my little buddy could hardly keep up... That one morning I still remember as one of the coldest times I've ever gotten. So make sure you take gear ready for winter...lots of snow too... beautiful area too... Have fun.... J

I probably picked the bad week, i don't think it's always that cold... for sure.... Plus we didn't have a thermometer and it's mostly a guess, but was well below zero...
